CredAlert is an intermediary under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. It does not determine truth, does not perform debt recovery, is not a credit bureau, and never becomes the publisher of any report. Every report belongs to the business that submitted it.

Architecture

Built on three non-negotiable principles

CredAlert is engineered as compliance infrastructure first and a product second. The legal posture is enforced in the schema, not in a policy page.

Evidence, not opinion

Every report requires authenticated documents — invoices, challans, ledgers, notices. Each file is SHA-256 hashed and locked into an immutable chain of custody.

Right of Reply, always

Reported businesses are notified before publication and get 30 days to publish an unedited reply that sits alongside the report permanently.

Intermediary by design

CredAlert never authors, edits or endorses a report. Safe-harbour posture, statutory grievance redressal and lawful takedown workflows are built into the product.

KYC-verified entities with an active public profile. Verification confirms identity documents — it is not an endorsement of conduct.

Trust metrics

Descriptive, mathematical, never predictive

Every metric on a business profile is computed from activity recorded on this platform — how often the business replies, and how often reports against it are later withdrawn after engagement.

Responsiveness

Share of published reports naming the business that received a Right of Reply.

Resolution

Share of reports later withdrawn by the reporter after engagement.

Profile completeness

KYC documents, registration identifiers and contact channels on file.

Trust metrics are purely algorithmic descriptions of activity recorded on this platform. They are not credit scores, not predictions, not creditworthiness opinions, and must not be used as the sole basis of any commercial decision.

How CredAlert works

From verification to publication

01

Verify your business

GSTIN, PAN, CIN and authorised-signatory KYC before you can publish anything.

02

Submit with documents

Structured intake with minimum evidence thresholds and a signed reporter declaration.

03

Notice & Right of Reply

The reported business is served notice and can respond before and after publication.

04

Moderation & publication

Human review for legality and evidence sufficiency — never for truth.

Enterprise

Procurement-grade vendor monitoring

Build watchlists across your vendor portfolio, save searches, and receive alerts the moment a new report or reply is published against a counterparty you track. Resolution tracking closes the loop.

  • Portfolio watchlists and saved searches
  • Timeline of every report and reply
  • Alerting with resolution tracking
  • Role-scoped access for procurement, finance and legal

API & developers

Build CredAlert into your workflow

A documented REST API with scoped keys and webhooks so vendor checks run inside your ERP, onboarding flow or procurement pipeline — not in a separate tab.

Security & compliance

Compliance controls that are enforced, not promised

Safe-harbour posture under the IT Act and IT Rules, 2021, with DPDP-aligned processing and a complete evidentiary record for every action.

Row-level access controlEvery table is governed by role-scoped policies. Evidence never leaves its private vault without an audited, signed URL.
Immutable audit trailViews, downloads, status transitions and staff actions are appended to an append-only log with actor, time and reason.
DPDP-aligned processingPurpose-bound collection, consent records and data-principal requests answered within 30 days.
Legal holds & LEA workflowRecords under legal hold cannot be mutated or erased. Law-enforcement requests follow a documented lawful-process channel.
Who it is for

One platform, clearly separated duties

Reporting businesses, reported businesses, compliance staff and enterprise integrators each get a purpose-built surface with role-scoped data access.

Procurement teams

Screen a counterparty before onboarding — verification status, published reports and the vendor's own replies in one view.

Finance & credit control

Track outstanding-payment reports across a vendor portfolio and record resolutions as they happen.

Compliance & legal

Run grievance, takedown, DPDP and legal-hold workflows on statutory timelines with a complete evidentiary record.

What CredAlert is not

  • Not a credit bureau and not regulated as a credit information company.
  • Not a debt recovery agency — we never contact anyone to collect money.
  • Not an adjudicator — we do not decide whose account is true.
  • Not the publisher — reports belong to the businesses that submit them.
  • Not a scoring product — activity metrics are descriptive, never predictive.
